What You Need In Your Truck’s Cab
Trucks are an essential part of many vital industries, from hauling cargo to moving materials and supplies at worksites and beyond. But while your truck might be tricked out, no drive is complete without a few things in the cab with you to make the trip pass smoother. We here at California Truck Centers know long hours on the road can be taxing, so we’ve put together a few things you might want in the cab with you. Emergency Gear
You never know what’s going to happen on the road, but you do know you want to be prepared. To keep you on top of any situation, you’re going to need some supplies, including:
- A tool kit to help you fix your truck’s minor breakdowns and issues.
- A first aid kit to help fix your minor issues, including bandages, ointments, antacids, and more.
- A resealable container of sand or cat litter to help give your truck traction in slick or sticky situations.
- A flashlight.
If you end up in a bit of trouble on your ride, having the right supplies to get you through it will make a world of difference.
Bedding
If you’ve got a sleeper truck or at least enough room to get comfortable, you’re going to want to bring a few things to make the sleeping area more comfortable. Even if the area in question is padded, it couldn’t hurt to grab a mattress that fits in the area to ensure you get the support you need. A pillow or two and the right sheets or blankets to keep you warm, and you’re set for any night on the road! Those blankets can even be worn while driving on cold nights or mornings.
Person Fuel
Speaking of comfort, no one wants to drive on an empty stomach or get dehydrated in the middle of nowhere. For a truck with enough space, a cooler can help you load up on snacks, water, caffeine, and more. If you don’t have space for a cooler, just make sure to have high-protein, non-perishable snacks like trail mix or granola bars and a couple of water bottles. Staying vigilant is the best way to avoid any accidents, and staying fueled up and hydrated is the best way to stay vigilant!
Ask Fellow Truckers
While we can provide some basic suggestions, your best source of information is other folks in your field. They’ll be able to tell you what roads are hardest, and what kind of supplies you’ll want on hand to conquer them.
