Celebrating 95 Years of Excellence: A Tribute to Our Journey

This year marks an extraordinary milestone for California Truck Centers as we celebrate 95 years of dedicated service to the trucking community. Since our beginnings in 1930, we have grown into a family of eight full-service dealerships, a corporate warehouse and training center, and expanded our offerings through Lee Financial Services and California Truck Leasing. All of this has been made possible by the commitment and hard work of over 700 dedicated employees and the trust of our customers.

As we reflect on nearly a century of serving the trucking community, we extend our deepest gratitude to you. Your trust and support have allowed us to thrive and evolve, creating a legacy of excellence and innovation that spans generations.

A Legacy Built on Family and Vision

California Truck Centers' story began in Fresno in 1930 with three visionary brothers: P.L., Earl, and Roscoe Howard. Operating as Fresno Trailer Company at 701 L Street, they manufactured and sold heavy-duty truck trailers to serve California's agricultural community. Over time, the business transitioned to selling heavy-duty trucks under the name Fresno White & Autocar, which eventually became Fresno Truck Center, and California Truck Centers.

The Howard family has guided the company through decades of growth and change. After Earl and Roscoe passed away, P.L. Howard continued to lead the business. In 1957, his son Gary joined the company and later became President, serving in that role for over 35 years. Today, Gary’s children, Doug and Brenda, who have been part of the company since the early 1980s, carry on the family leadership. Doug now serves as President, with the fourth generation of Howards, Lee and Tiffany, actively involved in the company’s management.
